"Jesus went out from there and *came into His hometown; and His disciples *followed Him.
When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands?
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him.
Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own household.”
And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
And He was going around the villages teaching."
Today I want to show you that not only are you suffering from a lack of "faith" of their citizens and subjects. Jesus when he preached on earth was once their homeland to preach there and do the miracles which he did elsewhere.
I think Jesus in your heart saying,
I need to bless my land! I must bless my people with the blessings I am pouring in these places. I go there and I will bless!
But when he arrives and begins to preach the word of the kingdom, there things get complicated.
People, rather than rejoice and give glory to God, began to doubt the Lord and said,
Wait a second ? This is not the son of Mary and Joseph? It is brother of James and the other sons of Mary? How can you talk this way with wisdom and knowledge without having studied? How can he heal the sick was here before, he never did anything? I eh, I can not. I do not believe.
So it is with many leaders today, Presidents, Kings, Princes and LIDERS, people who knew him do not understand how you got yourself in this position, as could be President of his country, if you like biking and flying kites all day? As this "boy" or "girl" now has a wisdom so great to do what you do? As?
This lack of faith, this unbelief leaves us sad and beats the courage. Not because we are not used to, but it's because el comes from those who do not expect. Friends, neighbors and relatives.
Jesus explained:
-No Prophet without honor, save in his own country, among his own kin, and in his home.
The result:
-And I could there do no marvelous work; only healed a few sick, laying his hands on them.
And he marveled because of their unbelief.
Note that we are talking about Jesus, the Son of God or at least for some one of the largest leaders of all time. And finding that Ivy with you people implied, not even with him the people involved not to believe.
I think, and I will name a few, who have gone through this:
Abraham Lincoln, Obama, Merckel, Dilma and many others who had to overcome the stigma of color, gender, social class and so many other barriers that stand in front of him.
But as Jesus did, do also:
- And going he preached in all the villages!
